That was definately an interesting experience! I was very proud of myself for finishing 12.2 miles in under an hour... 59:23. My average was a tad over a 4.5 minute mile, which for me was great! Next question... do I try the Cleveland race, or wait till next year for my next race?! This is so addicting! I would love to put on a race to raise money for JDRF.org!
It was so nice to finally meet some of the members from the ColumbusInline group! Hopefully I can get out to more of the weekend events. Since Laura made the mistake of telling me that she's been trying to skate, I may be up around Marysville/Dublin more often getting her out!

First Race!!!
I'm registered and ready for my first race - Mount Carmel in Columbus is holding a Half Marathon Skate on August 15! After I broke my leg last Feb/March, I decided my overall goal was to complete a Marathon, but quickly realized after going to Miami in February that I wasn't ready for 26 miles! This half marathon is perfect since I'm already skate 10 miles at a time. With my current pace (minus the few minute break I take after the first 5), I'm hoping to finish in less than 1 hour 15-20 minutes. I'm so excited about giving this a try!

Relay for Life Walk
Wow, so much has happened in the past month! I'm learning to take the good with the bad and trying to see the silver lining in every cloud.
After a year of fundraising and hard work, all of Amy's efforts paid off when they finally had the Relay for Life walk. Her team took 3rd place with the most money raised! I'm not sure what the final total was, but my understanding is that it was a little over $5,000!
I've been looking forward to this event. I'd never been to one, but I knew I wanted to take my camera and I had so many ideas bouncing around in my head. I'm fairly happy with some of these images that I captured. Congradulations on all of your hard work, Amy! I know that Dave would be proud of you for doing all of this in his honor!

Happy Daddy's Day!
I was so proud of myself for coming up with this gift! Josh broke his wedding band a few months ago but we haven't been in a big hurry to find a replacement. I some how managed to talk him into push it off as much as possible because I had this idea and was able to pull it off as a gift! It's titanium and I'm very happy with it so far, it turned out better than I thought it would. The real test is how long it will hold up over time!
